Starting in 2019 and finishing up in 2024, over $100 million was invested in the 27 mile long-awaited “Northern Ecological Corridor”, adjacent to Freedom Star Estates. This highway system has opened Northern Belize to new developments and businesses. Given these improvements, travel time from Freedom Star Estates to Corozal - the seaside town of the north, has been reduced from an hours-long journey into a matter of minutes. In the last few years the Belizean Gov't, along with their international partners, have shown a great deal of interest in developing the North. And still, local real estate prices are surprisingly low. From an investor’s perspective, Northern Belize is a sound choice.
Belize has no restrictions on owning property, providing foreigners the same property rights as citizens and imposing no barriers to buying and selling real estate.
Belize has no capital gains tax!
Pensions are completely exempt from taxation as well.
The official language of Belize is English
Lastly, much like parts of Hawaii in the 1960s and the Guanacaste coast of Costa Rica in the 1990s, Northern Belize is undergoing an unprecedented land rush. The unspoiled beauty of the northern coast, along the Bay of Chetumal, with expansive untamed forests, stunning coastlines, calm waters, and enchanting islands, is a virtual paradise waiting to be discovered.
